Let me rephrase:
Create charisma/barter alt and sell high tier stuff which you looted for low price until you gather some reputation (eventually do some quests... with that barter alt) from trading. Optionally repair it to get better prices wasting half of the gathered equipment... and no. You won't get caps anyway since traders and merchants just don't have them.

Yeah I also don't like the trading post wipe changes. Merchants can be served with less variety of items and there are even less caps in the circulation.

dont get me wrong, i see nothing wrong with having a few character types, its just more annoying grinding and move bullshit in the banks untill you get a shared account for your private little faction of idiot toons XD

That's not really true.  They've weighted the reputation with the faction a lot higher than barter skill, so you can still get fair prices if you have a higher rep.  And you'll get that by trading, so just keep selling and buying.

No, you just have to horde/make spears. The cash you get for them in JT is consistent. Yes boys and girls, there is a compelling reason to get them off dead raiders and the dusty streets of unguarded towns where some poor bluesuit got shot over a crappy gun and maybe a few caps!

But yeah, in all seriousness it would be nice to see other ways to make caps consistently. There are a few quests you can get some caps from in some amount, but not all of them are repeatable.

For the moment, you must  content yourself with low reward tasks, like knocking over low tier raiders and NPC's for those spears with cheapass .45 caliber ammo, or scrabbling to get enough metal parts and junk to make spears. (That, or shoveling shit and moving boxes, but that's never fun. And considering how cheap .45 ammo is, it's almost worth hunting raiders for the crappy xp they give and the 100 caps you are almost guaranteed for getting a couple of spears off the screwheads.)
