Eldrige is dead now what?

Some one killed Eldrige in New Reno. What should I do with this gun runner brief case? can I give it back and take a new route? when will Eldrige re-spawn?

S.T.A.L.K.E.R:
You should just wait, Eldridge should re spawn soon just like any other NPC in towns.
And the brief case, I don't know, didn't do that quest yet.

wait a few hours and then finish the quest
