I did, but I read it and understood it which seems to be too much of a task for you. But hey, I'm a bit of a carebear myself so I'm going to explain:

a) the issue of using 3rd party programs and requesting developer's reaction
- if it happened like Hawk-Eye said (which is doubtful to say the least) everything happened outside of the game;
- the only thing that had to do with the game was the information obtained;
- using that information (ie. logging in) is not a punishable deed on this server;
- as far as I know 2238 administration doesn't have fighting cyber-crime in their job description, so why on Earth would some infected website concern them?;
- even if you assume it's their business, how the hell do you expect them to conduct an investigation? They have no access to Amboy website, Hawk-Eye's computer and in general are simply powerless in this situation;
b) the notion of infecting your gang website to get some other player's password out
- believe it or not, websites tend to get infected against their owners' will;
- gang sites are mostly visited by gang members only, nobody is expecting Cajuns on Amboy site;
- when hostile gangs visit your forums, they generally tend to want to cause harm by obtaining sensitive information etc. - why would you empathise with that?;
- to set a trap up, Amboys would have to accept the risk of infecting their own computers - even at the high-trust groups like BBS, that would cause a massive "screw you, no way" reaction from the members;
- obtaining information like that is a crime in most countries; no sane person would risk going to jail after some 2238 game account.

So not only is the notion of some hacker warfare going on between Cajuns and Amboys totally ludicrous, but also the idea that devs should react in any way is laughable.

And yeah, we all know infamous Nice_Boat and all his friends, everyone else is just a "carebear".

It's funny how you support a dude who just accused another person of a criminal offence without presenting any evidence and than expect the accused to prove you that he's innocent and worthy of your trust (as if that ever mattered ). I wouldn't call you a carebear, I'd call you a nazi. And if you're not, you sure do behave like one right now.

But yeah, there's an awful lot of carebears and stupid people (yeah, anyone buying OP's bullshit on the basis of what he said is just plain dumb) around these days.

Seriously now, if anyone should be banned it should be Hawk-Eye. Whatever you say, he threw a lot of dirt with absolutely no basis and even if his accusations get proven false, some of his crap is going to stick. This is too serious a matter to be treated like that.

Ok it seems it was a false accusation, maybe there is no link between the "Worm" on the Amboy Website, and the Hackings of multiple accounts.

Also there isn't any proof to know if what Amboys said about this worm was true, and we don't have any proof to accuse them, so this is just nonsense trolling to talk about it anymore. I'm making apologizes to Amboys Dukes if i was wrong about their website.

However, this doesn't change the fact that some of our members got their accounts hacked and some of our players got their accounts' passwords changed. This doesn't change the fact that a lot of people in this game doesn't care about what GMs or Devs are doing. This doesn't change the fact that a lot of people don't know thats this game got Rules.

This post was much about strict rules than about The Amboy Dukes or any other faction, it was just an example. The main important question is that password accounts are way too easy to break. You can still talk about who is "carebear", who is "crybaby", who is "badass" or who is "innocent", and that would be a very nice trolling party, but this will be pointless.

I didn't get infected with this Trojan or anything else, i didn't get my account hacked either, i'm just reporting some facts my teamates told me and and i'm talking about what could be done in this game to improve its security.

I'm also talking about In-game and Out-game Rules, and i think that some people doesn't deserve to play it. Too many people are forgetting about what has been done in this game during the past 2 years. An like every online game there should be Important Rules and GMs should have the right to ban people who don't respect it.

More constructive talks about the Rules of this game, and less trolling about who did what, and who is your daddy, thank you.

The "proper" reaction would be more to laugh at this person or just ignore him completely. Seriously, all I wanted to say is - if one is innocent (which - again - I assume he is) why even respond? Or why put insults in? I don't get it. As I said, if one accuses you that you did thing xy (but you haven't), simply ignore it or atleast write something without childish words in it.

Again, did you read it carefully? I agreed with making stricter rules, not just "ban everyone" (which is pointless anyway).
