Login and Update issue

Like some other, when I tried to create a character and login, it will go to the loading screen then back to title menu. There I receive a message saying "connection established...authentication" or something along those lines. I read here that I need to use the updater. So I did. The updater is unable to download one file (this one file every time I try) the data/faction.zip file, which is 78829 kb. I waited all day for something to happen to no avail. Please someone help me.

Hopefully the first link will sort you out, otherwise there's further info in some of the others.

May I suggest that it might be worth "stickying" one of these "updater isn't working" threads (whichever has most correct info in) for a little while, as the ones with info in are hidden quite a few pages back.
