you can find mutated molerats and normal molerats between the black terrain and the normal molerat hunting area

Also i see that you forgot a combat skill: Throwing
Throwing is the best for ranged combat if you dont want to waste fuckloads of ammo, you can create either:
10 Throwing knifes, wich you can retrieve from dead bodyes, max range with 2xHeaveHo 22hex, you only need 2 wood and 4 metal parts and you can enjoy them until you get killed.
NOTE: Dont throw knifes in vs encounters, the caravans or guards will retrieve them. ugly feature.
30 Molotovs, you only need 8 fruits and 4 wood, in a still just put the wood put the fruits and take the rotgut= with 4 rotguts you can craft 30 molotovs in any workbench.

The best place to lvl up a nader or knife thrower is the black terrain between Reno and NCR, it has many molerats, manti, rats and radscorpion encounters wich you can get in RT, just let all the critters attack each other and throw a single molotov= 100-400xp per shot.

And you can always ask me for hunt if you see me at NCR

You can find DClaws all along the east edges of the map. Sometimes vs Cannibals.

I found a desert stalker near VC, not sure where though, got too scared, and why didn't you said I needed 3 CH, I got damm 300 fruits then the kid called me a boogie man, omg.

you could always take the fruit, gather wood, brew booze and craft molotovs or flamer ammo.

rope crafting can do if you have outdoorsman

1 fiber=1 rope= 20xp

and you can sell ropes to some merchants at a good price

I have just made my safe house(ranger perk) and have been trying to make my campfire upgrade. i was told u need wood i have 29 on me when i try and have tried all possibilties my house is in city location.

Am i missing something?

You tried using "use inventory on" didn't you? if not click and select rucksack icon then select wood.
If you have tried this already then I don't know what's wrong as this is how it works for me.

You have to be careful with the ghouls though, if they do get a shot off they have very high luck and a good chance to get an evil crit of doom on you.
