Quiting game forever cause was killed for no reason numerous times

Well they aren't the losers here obviously, they just take the advantage over others becouse they know things/game/rules you can compare them to those on the top of food-chain/pyramid IRL and if you are the worker in the factory then you are at the bottom of it (you do all the work and they get all the fun). It's the same just know your game.

You mean like a new player safe area that could teach someone the basic game mechanics and give them a short preparation for the wasteland (rest of the server), including a few levels and boosted combat skills that come with it, and real starting gear instead of shit iguana on a stick and a rock?  Even I support this idea, and have even offered a suggestion as to HOW I would implement such a thing.  Mostly because I'm tired of answering the same questions over, and over, and over... "Where do I get junk?", etc.  We have however, been told numerous times that this will not happen.  It seems like sending new players out into the world with 0XP, no combat skill, weapons, armor, or even basic knowledge is intentional....

Or do you mean disabling combat in guarded towns?  We've also been told that this will not happen.

Or how about introducing some game mechanic that doesn't allow a player at level 1 to be shot by a person of a higher level?  You think this will happen?

I highly doubt any of these things will ever be implemented, or "fixed".

Funny story, my best friend started playing this game... you know why he quit?  He got tired of being jumped by NPC's every time he entered a map, and after 2 hours he just gave up.  He never even met another player.  This was last age when it was "easy" to get gear, caps, etc.

So yes, Wasteland is harsh, and not only because of the players.  Look at the current game mechanics... even a lot of experienced players I know are saying "WTF, this is hard now".

I won't comment on whether it's ok to kill noobs or not (well maybe I will, I think you can kill whoever you want, but spawn killing is no good, although that's not what the problem was with the OP).
However, this wipe does seem a little less noob friendly.  When i started, alone, i went and got flint, make prim tools, mined, made a gun and ammo, killed rats until i died, then repeat. Until I had 1000 caps in the bank, bought 10 hides, and made a tent.  Smooth sailing from there on out.
But with depleted resources instead of CDs, banks not having reserves, tougher barter system, its harder for a new guy to get started.
Of course, I haven't had that problem this wipe, but I could see it being an issue if you don't know what to do to get started.

Stick around and you will see that it isn't just a good game, it's a GREAT game. And I am among the many whiners complaining about bugged quests, bases, game system changes, etc.. In spite of all my complaints I truly love fonline.

But I can say this because I have stuck it out over the years, through good times and bad. Eventually you get used to loss and it gets easier to keep your chin up and rebuild. If a lot of the responses you see here in this thread seem a bit insensitive and uncaring it because, not only have they gone through what you have and many more times than you have, they've also experienced far greater losses than what you experienced as a noob.

If you've ever been in a faction and helped it build up from a couple guys and a tent to dozens of guys and many bases and a horde to make Atilla blush only to have it all disappear when that enevitable wipe comes then you understand the meaning of loss and what it takes to keep going and rebuild. Think about what that feels like when you are feeling discouraged over the loss of some junk and repeated respawns of a lvl 1 character. It also helps to remember it is only a game and to not take everything so seriously all the time. You have a lot more fun that way.

Also a good attitude even in the face of bitter disappointment will win you more friends in the game world and in any pvp game friends to have your back is better than any equipment you could craft or find on your own [which you will lose eventually anyway]. Soon as you make a friend do not hesitate, exchange some contact info so you don't lose them! Get em on irc, or by email, or your favorite instant messenger, or on this forum.

It is true there are freaks in this game and as people in responses here pointed out "sadistic" freaks at that lol. You will have that in any mmo. They are usually young teenagers with waaay too much time on their hands as they do not have to work or raise a family or attend college so they spend every waking hour online. They are the same types who grind away on games like runescape or wow and always have the highest level characters and the biggest hordes and know every exploit there is. Being underdeveloped mentally it is understandable that they haven't the maturity to properly roleplay or understand how pking noobs actually hurts the game they love, or understand that there is no honor among thieves or criminals and so eventually they will find themselves either alone or in a gang of backstabbers who cant ever trust each other.

But honestly there aren't as many of this kind as you might think. Most I have met are older and more mature and do have their own code of honor they abide by. You might find yourself on the wrong end of it but at least they have one and are not just random senseless trolls or munchkins. Don't be afraid to talk to players instead of just instantly running away or not even saying hi. I always say hi and try to initiate conversation unless i already know the name as somebody i dont trust or have some feud with. I have met many friends this way. And even ones who killed me I still say hi or try to find something humorous to say while they stand over my dead body, or compliment them on a good fight if it was like that.

From having a couple years experience playing fonline I was actually able to get started on my own after the last wipe with no problems from any other players. And I actually encountered far more pk attempts than I ever had before due to the new and improved HtH system which I love! You may have experienced the same thing I did, seemingly innocent bluesuits appearing and suddenly knocking you down and keeping you down until you are dead lol. Well, it just so happened that I had read about the new HtH system and decided to build the ultimate HtH build myself as my first character and I was not dissappointed. I was able to defend myself from all these new HtH pkers I ran into. Well not all, a few higher level ones got the better of me. But in no time at all I was high enough level that I no longer has any more problems from other players.

The problem I see with this idea is that if new characters are invulnerable their first few levels this will become an exploit and you will have many experienced players with new characters they max out at level 3 or which ever is the highest invulnerable level and camp places with their gangs of invulnerable bluesuits instead of only relatively invulnerable lvl 24 BA wearing uber BG builds. Perhaps a tutorial island would be more doable but that just sounds too ghey care-bearish like runescape or other gheybear mmos lol. I think the devs are doing the best they can under the circumstances and just need more help and cooperation and donations from players and perhaps some extra code saavy manpower to help them track down bugs in their code and such.
