If I have a tent with items laying all over the place and I make a ranger hut, will my items that were on the ground disappear?

Making a "ranger hut" process is the same as making a new tent(like new map generation), so its 95% that all your items would be deleted. So you should have no items in your tent before upgrading. Don't forget that you must me on an empty encounter to make a new tent, wich with "Ranger" perk will automatically become a "ranger hut".

That last post was weird to read.  If you make a Safe House, it takes the place of your tent.  100% of the items at your tent will be lost.

To  make ranger hut you must be on empty encounter map, this will delete your old tent and provide ranger hut. Entire map of your old tent will be deleted, that's every item you left there.
