Post wipe Living Anathomy
« on: January 12, 2012, 10:24:36 pm »

I am, as everybody here i suppose, using FCP. Description for Living Anathomy is: Doubles chance of critical success, Halves Failures +2dmg to living creatures. Is that description true?

If it is then if i have 25% of critical success and take this perk i will have 50%? Thats double...
But it halves chaces of failures, or 75%, then with 25% and half of 75% it is 63%.... :-\

What is it?

Who said you that everything that not critical success is critical failure? There're also standard FA attempts, that are more common.

If I understand what you're talking about correctly, the normal chance to fail an FA is 1/20 (5%). So, if this perk makes the chance to fail halved, this makes the chance to fail an FA 1/40 (2.5%). And it would make chance to heal all of skill point level 1/10 (10%).

No. You have 5% chance for critical fail/success.
Whether it's critical fail or success is determined by LK roll.
So really only with 1 luck you have 5% chance for critical fail.

So this perks works only 1/20 times you use FA. It's quite weak.

For medics this perk is useless, better take Blessed are the weak
and Medic and 1 luck and forget about Living Anatomy.
In the worst case you will repeat FA in a minute (or even less).
You would be very unlucky to fail 2 times in a row.

For anyone else there are more important perks.

The description says the damage is per attack, but +2 is really low. Could it be by bullet?

Its per attack, the main purpose is to boost FA not increase damage - though one hander pistols can gain a reasonable amount from it.

If the medic side of the perk is too weak then it can always be cranked up.

My friend GrosDoc who play only medic say he was deceived to have took it: he still have crit fail pretty often (with 5 luck).

Gotta notice the Irony here... Everyone talking about the medical side of the perk whereas you... well, it fits :3

Anyway, with hth users being the best medics-sciencers-repaiers and whatever I suppose the +2 dmg helps add up somehow  but theres a (very) fine line between a medic with hth skills and an ape with medic skills, too bad we cant tell the difference, or is that a good thing?

I don't really understand how this perk can halve failures and double chance for critical success at the same time.
It seems imposible with simple LK roll.

If you have 5 CH without perk, it should be 50%/50%. With perk 25%/....? 100%? What the? :D

I can only guess with this perk the LK roll is made 1/10 times instead and if it's crit fail you have 75% chance that it will be discarded.
Or it's done in some similar way. Or the perk description is innacurate.

I wouldn't mind exact formula. Medic powerbuilds this season are quite fearsome :>

Maybe im wrong, but i think that 1/20 healings is fail/skillful. and after that is roll for: is that fail, or success. So i believe that this is what living anatomy is about: more skillfull interventions, than critical failures.

Having talked about it with Atom, I think it is actually quite a decent perk as it is.

It at least doubles your chance to get a critical success with high luck - in real terms, not upgrading inside the 5%. The lower your luck, the bigger the boost.

Currently it keeps the critical fail amount essentially the same, it could probably do with reducing this by half.

If I could choose between more critical successes and less critical failures then I'd go for the last one.

That is essentially what you are getting now.

Without you range from 0.5% critical success with 1 luck to 4.5% with 10 luck. With LA you range from 5% with 1 luck up to 10% with 10 luck.
