Unarmed builds
« on: January 16, 2012, 09:40:04 am »

All these new perks got me confused. I'm trying to make an unarmed cripler, and don't know if thats even possible now.
So i was wondering... does HtH Criticals perk effect critical chance or critical tables?
Also, if anyone knows, what exactly does Hit the gaps perk do? (in other words, is it better then hth criticals? :D)
thx people

Hth Criticals gives you +25% on the critt roll, so it increases your chance to critical hit.

Hit the Gaps perk ignores 25% of Armor Critical Modifier. So it's increases your critt chance as well, when Better Criticals increases damage of your critical hits.

Please also check Fallout Character Planner on nitue.net made by Niko vel Opera.
On the right side of this planner you will find the category "PERKS" there you will learn about requirments of particular perks and its short description.

I'm not sure if that's true.
I think HtH criticals give +25 on the crit table and Better criticals work for ranged attacks only.

I based my answer on FCP, so please forgive me if I write something wrongly.
But I think that your're right Pistacja, sorry for confusing.

It is as pistacja said - HtH criticals gives you +25 (notice lack of % sign) to crit TABLE roll (this is roll for critical hits severity) - it does NOT increase your crit chance despite what the perk might say

Only "Bonus HtH Damage+" increases your crit chance by +15% and that's that

Don't take Hit The Gaps, it's the worst perk out there.

If you want criticals then take it :)

It ignores 25% of the armour critical modifier.
What's the max armour critical modifier? 10? 15?
1/4*10 is 2,5 - rounded down 2, rounded up 3, 1/4*15 is 3,75, rounded down 3, up 4.
So you're getting bonus +2/+3/+4 on roll and +2/+3/+4% crit chance when hitting BA/CAMK2 guy, even less when hitting worse armor. I'm sure there are a lot of better perks out there :F

Compare it to the epic HtH Criticals, let's say it gives +4 on roll, so Hit The Gaps is like 4/25 of HtH Criticals, not even always, only when you hit well-armored guys.

What if it ignored 100% of armor critical modifier?
- EPIC WINNING
