Welcome to the metal parts era
« on: January 09, 2012, 06:41:59 pm »

It is not good, we need MP for EVEYTHING and mines still depleted, so even if that bug is solved players will still need MP for craft practically any shit, some things that in my opinion are wrong:

- Sharpened Spear requiring 3 MP to craft, why? you only need 1 to make 2 normal spears.
- 5 MP to make an innocent 10mm pistol, the gun is even weaker than a simple sharpened pole.
- 5 MP and 1 wood to make a shotgun, it should be 1MP and 5 woods, just look at the gun.
- Yes a pitty pistol need 5 MP and 1 alloys, but a Flamethrower is only made of wood and 3 alloys.
- Why do you need 4 pieces of junk to make a spear? it only needs MP and a pole, same way like sledgehamer= wood and MP
- Radio should need electronic parts, not the damn MP
- You only need 4MP to make a metal armor, but most guns uses 5MP
and so on.

Also i didnt even watch the needed mateials for proffession items, but i can imagine it....
In the end it only damages EW, SG and BG chars, im fine with requirements for Throwing Knives  ;)

Everything has a base price set. In the case of weapons this was some basic mashing together of average damages and range.

Each resource has some base price (what used to control the cooldown).
Working a material multiplied this value.
Materials were added to the recipe until the value of the worked materials ~ base price.

This (as well as a bit of an underestimation of some weapons stats) explains why some things appear odd.

yeah, but in lorilane quest(for crafting startup) it earns new players whrong, how about telling them that they need to mine for metal parts, also tell them that they can get metal parts by dismantaling old weapons, so she just did that and gives the player resources to make them

also, i sugest ammo to be scienced too

You got a good point there, ammo should be able to be scienced for gunpowder /metal parts (bullets got metallic cases you know), but it should be in defined numbers,  and in a similar or in the same quantity as its required to craft each ammo type, this could be a good feature i remember having thousands of mauser, 10mm, 45 cal bullets that they where just used as decoration, since nobody employed them in the bases, this sciencing should be possible at least with bullet ammunition

Yes too
i have .45 and 9mm ammo in my tent that are useless, and we lack the way to make powerful ammo

MP is not rare, i just felt that fixboy tables were a bit odd
