I like the idea. But Unless it's some sort of Pipboy electronic key lock, I don't see how it's going to help with a tent follower, As they'll just loot your body for the key, or if you hidden it in the surrounding area, They'll find it if their persistent enough. Only way I suppose is to make a tent just solely for that key, Which would take some duel logging or a friend to help with, and that would only be the key being stolen I suppose.

You could put it in your car, which then must be lockpicked as well first.
