Use dynamites to craft more dynamites? Then use more dynamites to get even more dynamites? Or if dynamites will bring less resources than it needed to craft, then it'll be pointless to use them for mining, if not, then it'll be accumulative effect, more and more and more dynamites, booms 24/7 in mines until you'll reach number of needed dynamites and then will get spare mats non-stop for other than dynamite things. It's like if sledgehammer was breaking with each swing and you could craft new one from ore you just dug with it. It's.. pointless.

You couldn't make 2 dynamites from 1 because you would still need detorantor parts.
And detonator parts are limited right? I heard they are not always available.

So it would be the limit for dynamite mining. If not, availability of detonators can be adjusted.
Detonators could be made more expensive (they should be anyway IMO).

The point of this item would be that for higher price you would be at least sure
that you will come out with some resources.

Also dynamite should be forbidden in guarded mines.

I think it can be good if dynamite can smash more ore and minerals at biggest range (actually i think about random range for redding mine at vanamingo queen place, i mean its alot goo here and it can explode like at modoc, while searching for golden clock for bad guy at goo place in toilet with entrance to undertoilet space) :D
Because of this it gonna be easy to die (big goo+rock explode) and easy to farm ore and minerals. :O

Perhaps it could partially restock private mines, but with diminishing returns for each blasting.

U booms 24/7 in mines until you'll reach number of needed dynamites and then will get spare mats non-stop for other than dynamite things.
Not necessarily, thats not pretty far from farming TC cities for cash, its (or should be) something profitable that everyone can do at any given time given the right preparation, and if so it becomes another reason to brawl over something. And if this game is about something is about brawling over something.

Think about it, nowadays a small gang (or a bigger one for the lulz) takes a mine hostage, shoots miners and gets some mediocre profit, half the time they just get bored and go, a few others they hit someone who they shouldnt have and a bigger gang comes in guns blazing, however mines aren´t really taken because they´re profitable, they´re taken because they´re easy to grief places. Only slave operations are somewhat profitable but are in turn too slow and not time-cost efficient. Have full mining operations involving dynamite happen, maybe a certain trigger that counts the explosions and if they reach a certain treshold (say 10 explosions in 5 minutes) it would give a global announcement as an invitation to wreck that mining operation.

Edit: This of course should only be allowed on insecure mines, guards should stop you from using explosives in public quarries due them being dangerous and provoking cave ins. Hell a cave in idea or maybe a explosion opening a room with enemies should crack the fun meter up  a notch

Would be cool, but only if explosives means dynamite, not grenades (I know that's what you suggest already, so I totally agree :) ).

Would finally give some real use to dynamite.

I think this suggestion could get a new meaning in this season, so i will bump it.

Dynamite could be used for faster regeneration of materials, a player could use it like:

1. Using dynamite by himself on pile of rocks.(possible option for grieving)
2. Donating the dynamite to a NPC faction miner via dialogue option so he could use it by himself.

This option has no grieving option, but unguarded slaves will get seriously hurt, also will require NPC faction miners mining along with the players.

3. Alternatively, one could "kill" a rock critter to loot the materials. Someone already suggested it and i want to reconsider this option. At least, a group of miners could team up on a rock to share the loot and get a little XP.

how about the privtae mines start off really small and need to be blasted to expand the mineable area once the resources are depleted.

And in the newly blasted-open corridors there should be deathclaws, molerats, aliens and treasure chests :)) or raiders base :)
