What would happen if I donate $100?

you know nothing,devs are active wasteing there time for guys like you. many days i played the cbt all day ,went to sleep and the devs are still on making the new server playable. so dont talk like you know anything. just because there not on #2238 does not mean there not active and trying to make this game better for everyone.

And devs are wasting their own money for keeps the server running. And just because it's running and Scypior said words of gratitude, it doesn't mean everyone has donated.
Also, "devs won't suddenly become active and inform players about anything" statement isn't entirely true. You just have to ask politely and not be a total dick.

when cbt first started i played 18 hours went to sleep for 10 hours and woke they where up for all of it and even more because they where up before they contacted people for cbt.
