Changes based on Fallout timeline

(1/4) > >>

Eternauta:
I have noticed that Adytum was renamed New Adytum and Lorraine explains it's how the place is called after it became part of the NCR. According to The Vault, this happened in 2241, but I am not sure when the changes were implemented in 2238.

The suggestion is to implement other (at least little) changes in locations according to events mentioned in the Fallout timeline.

For example, right now we are in the year 2258... President Tandi (who is 113 years old in our game and is still ruling NCR) was supposed to die in 2248, after that Joanna Tibbett became president until the Mojave incident in 2235, and Wendell Peterson should be the current President. We could also get new "over-head" messages from NPCs (about corruption or just making a comment about the change of government) in towns which belong to the NCR, especially if Tandi was so loved by the people while the next presidents were better allies with big landowners, as Caesar says in New Vegas.

I know that 1) this era is exceptionally long (inb4 whine about no wipe), and that 2) this suggestion might make me sound like some elitist "it's not like in the originaaaal! ><" sort of fan but the game feels a bit "poor" (sorry, I can't think of a better word) if years pass and California is always the same. War never changes, but the rest of the world does! [/cheap rethoric]

Maybe some changes in the game world could, in this era at least, eventually lead to some interesting event(s) as part of the so called "pre wipe madness". Of course this means a lot more work for developers and GMs so it's not the strong part of my suggestion.

Lexx:

--- End quote ---

This shouldn't be in the game, as the Boneyard isn't in the NCR yet.

The ingame time (year) is ignored, because it's running way too fast and having global changes per year is too much work to implement.

Slaver Snipe:
I personally would prefer the developers keep working on what they are doing now to get the needed stuff done for a wipe to happen rather than them waste time on doing little flavor things for this era.

LagMaster:
there are a lot of timeline bugs, such as Vic in Klamath telling that he traveled with a Tribal

we shoud change some dialogs in game(those probably are remains from TLA)

JovankaB:
If 2238 was open source such little things could be fixed in no time by someone who cares.
But since it's not, it's better if devs work on what is important / they consider important.
