Almost 100% chance he will meet your encounter,  (from my experience anyways) but the chance to be forced into it or given the choice is dependant on his/her outdoorsman.

If mercs are too expensive for you try slaves for example 5 homesteader females equipped with 223 pistol just owns for traps(compared to other slaves) they have no armor but if you face 1-3 guys 223 pistols will do the job anyway thus female homesteaders have 101 hp and that is a lot for a slave , i have a big gunner slaver ;D the rocket launcher or lsw compliments the 223 pistols great. Then again you can equip the bitches with grenades it's like omg eternal knockdown , or if you really want to have fun get plasma grenades , slave children and trap with them the guys won't even realize what hit them before they die.

Weird fun stuff i haven't tried yet.

Cheap melee mercs with super cattle prods , or unarmed with super power fists!
Dogs equipped with dynamite( not sure if this is possible ) , dynodogs or smthing ? ;D

timing is an issue, set the timer right you need to consider reaction time of people dropping into encounter, can you effectively plant the bomb on dog? is your traps skill high enough? if not how much dynamite are you going to need to take out your target? how much hp and what armour is your target wearing? how long does the dog have to run to the target?

I just cant imagine somebody pulling this off correctly in a few seconds of somebody dropping into trap encounter. unless of course you dont mean in trap encounter but most if not all of those still apply.

Yeah dynodogs won't do good in traps :) for some reno fights would be perfect.

You could be equipped with the dynamite as it does not require any special skill, just running straight towards enemy. Exploding dogs look sad and make me cry.

About topic it is good to stay between city and mine.
