Are you asking ? If you are , then yes spray and pray works on grenade types too , i mean the throwing requirement is not just for fun on spray and pray , so it's logical to assume it works as well all torso hits are untargeted( uncalled shots ).

The best thing you can do is give lazer rifles to both of them and check how far they shoot ( hexes ) , maybe there is no difference at all.
