Simple TC review (8/11)

 Militia strenght is too powerfull for current stage of game. Team of 10-12 lvl 21 powerbuilds needs 2 times to kill them all, althought there are not any other enemy players. Their HPs, weapons and perks were set up on stage of games, when 2 alliances each with 15 plus players dominated the game..

 So dont forget to change this after next wipe, because if one team would be able to rush TC, this team would dominate from this caputre for many weaks (like last era) and the impact on gameplay would be massive and negative.

Plus militia is abusable like dozens of ways for the benefit of attackers and defenders.
Also it's characteristics are a bit flawed. Example: the longer a faction holds the town, the more militia they get. It doesn't really help anything. It's easily bypassed by capturing the town when capturers are offline.
Players respawn, militia doesn't.

Fast solution would be to have medium strength militia of 8 that respawns, heals itself and loots dead people they kill, stuff goes to tc locker.

In addition the increasing tc rewards over time is also rather rubbish. If town is captured when its defenders weren't there, the rewards are reset and there's nothing the defenders can do about it

We were discussing this lately and I think the lesser evil would be to have TC windows once again with the difference of 2 TC windows set up by the defenders with the minimum of 6h spacing. No militia involved.

Agreed, TC windows are a must, each town could have is own window, thus players from a certain time zone would benefit from capturing a town of there own time zone. It would also be hard for a single faction to have all towns, making the server more diverse and stable.

I would keep the militia, but with TC windows, it could be nerfed a bit.

It's not even where this come from: militia was created when the average PvP player had 250HP, 16 AP, 90%DR, and the avenger had an higher DPS. With such strength, even 3 prepared players were more than enough to waste it. And then, avenger and drugs have been heavily nerfed, using mercs in militia became comon, and the alliances have been reduced in number, while miltia didn't move an inch...

TC windows were the same like you have mentioned, but it wasnt good. Towns with late night / morning windows were owned by nolife gangs, because gangs not from Europe were too weak or were not interested in TC at all.

If the TC windows should came back, two things should be taken into consideration.

1.Make the windows non-fixed, lets say the intervals are 22 hours, one day window is 18-19 the other 20-21. When there was fixed windows, I never fought for Redding because it was simply too soon.

2.Maybe the town could be taken only once in three days? So TC is kind of superior pvp that everyone prepares for? Of course that is avaiable when there will be some other pvp, that means domination or scavange areas or more places like Glow.

Another thing is that TC windows could lead to even bigger alliances, which a lot of people hates.

Or maybe have the same hours for 2 or 3 different towns. For example Redding, Broken Hills and Modoc between 19h and 21h. Klamath, Den and Gecko between 21h and 00h.
So teams will have to make choices : league together to secure one town or separate to attack separate towns...

Thats why i was thinking different time zones for different towns.

Most factions cant compete with big factions from Europe, thats why they arent interested in TC.

Yes but if for example Gecko can be taken only between 5 am and 7 am european teams won't be able to control it so it will be unfair for european teams.
Anyway what you propose (time windows) will always be unfair for one country or another so in my opinion it is not a good solution.

I don't see, for example how it would fix overpowered militia or the fact that towns are left as ghost towns after capture. TC windows might fix the way towns get captured when defenders are afk, but only problem with that activity is that the tc box gets reset. Even with tc windows the towns might get sneak-capped when defenders were afk. So the actual problem is that tc locker can be reset too easily.

And what about of the old feature when the amount of caps in the chest depended on people who came in the town to trade with merchants (the more they trade the more the faction get caps in the chest) ?
The feature have to be balanced but maybe we should think this way.

Trade-based caps would be nice, also Militia should be based on what types of weapons, armor, etc. the locals would have.

If the locals had the stuff militia does and were as tough- no town could ever be taken in the first place.

As for time windows, make them charisma/luck based- random 1-3 hours plus random 1- to charisma plus luck hours. Stats are from the one who talks to the TC guy.

Maybe add minutes equal to speech plus barter on top of that.

Window extended by 1 hour per militia purchased plus 2 hours per merc added to the militia.

Defense forces would have to be provisioned with armor, weapons, ammo, and healing supplies.

Not sure about window extensions.

Maybe you have to defeat the militia/etc. to retake town after the window runs out unless you wish to keep adding mercs to the militia.

So the longer you keep the town the stronger it gets. Just don't let the window close or they decide they don't need you any more and will be really tough to retake.

Who do they wanna fight at their timezone ? Nolife european gangs that will defeat them, so that gang will own these towns 24/7. I already mentioned how should windows be set.

I already mentioned no militia in towns  ::). Sneak-capped ? How ? There will be usual timer saying that one gang is going to take the city, so defenders might leave the town or decide to defend it. TC is just lure for a fight, face it. I dont want to change that fact, because I dont know how, but I want to improve those fights.

Oh and it was said thousand of times, there should be ammo, guns, drugs in lockers instead of caps.
