Sick of dying every time you get even close to 10 brahmin hides for that tent?
Tired taking an hour getting a gun and ammo again, only to go out for 15 minutes and getting shot?
Or, lost everything after a wipe and don't know where to start again?
There is an easier way!
This guide will show you how to create a character that powers through those hard early levels with very few deaths (if any)
and with enough caps at the end of it to buy pretty much whatever you want!
*note this is really a supporting character that is fun and profitable to play, but it wont take the world by storm with its PKing abilities, so if you encounter a Pker, run.
Create a character with stats of 6-6-4-3-10-10-1
one hander, fast shot
and tag outdoors, throwing and repair
make sure you will start with 40 science!!!
spawn and start heading towards the closest urban area, collecting at least 7 flints along the way
*flints can be picked up from desert encounters, they are pretty common, so you shouldnt have much trouble
once youve reached the urban area, start looking for trees you can cut, using primitive tools crafted from your flints
gather 35 wood and one junk, and craft a sledgehammer.
Go to the closest mine and start gathering iron ore, when you hit your gathering limit, go to the city and craft them into metal parts
and then turn the wood and metal parts into throwing knives.
keep doing this until you reach level 2, should be about 33-34 throwing knives unless you avoid any encounters
put all your points into throwing and head out into the wilderness
youll find that its extremely easy to kill anything that comes your way, even raiders as long as you kite them around (hit once or twice and then run enough so they cant hit you) youll very quickly shoot through the levels and not much will pose a threat except other players. start collecting brahmin hides but if you make a tent, dont put more than you can carry in it, because youll be moving soon
stay around the city or off killing molerats until you are around level 9 with 10 brahmin hides, pouring SP into throwing until its 130, then get 100 First aid and 100 outdoorsman, 80 science and put the rest into repair
get the perks awareness and 2x bonus move.
as well as learning armourer 1-2 if you can afford it
head over to about halfway between broken hills and new reno and build your tent. if you got level 2 armourer, go to broken hills mine with only a sledge and mine 5 HQ iron ore and make MkII metal armour, though you shouldnt be getting hit if you do it right, its nice just in case
take about 30 throwing knives and start moving around the outskirts of new reno
what your looking for is yakuza to get more throwing knives, and gangs + mobsters for their guns to sell
once youve got a full inventory, go back to your tent and drop your knives, money and armour off, take the gear your going to sell to either new reno or broken hills
you will probably die a few times trying to sell things, but it is so easy to obtain that it doesnt matter, just heal yourself and run back to the tent for your knives and armour and get more. when you level, get lifegiver and bonus rate of fire, thatll make things much much easier, and get up to 180 repair for armourer lvl 3
with this build i avoided all that frustration in the beginning with constant deaths and difficulty to get guns and ammo, and once you start farming around new reno, money pours in and you can support a decent character with guns, ammo and armour.
