FOnline isn't other game, and you'll see alts for 24 hours working as immortal blockers/scouts and other.

This game is just crying for a improvement, just 1 improvement.
NO ALTS ! Only 1 character ! I registration 1 character and if u make another "registration" and character, he gets BLOCKED and u can only play with ur first ! (U can delete it @ any time ofc) if this gets implamented the game wuld be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT better.

Yeah im pretty new, not to the fallout series I mean my room is full with screenshots of the games that I printed and hangeed on the wall. but to FOnline im pretty new lol the thing is its pretty different to the fallout series, you're not the chosen one, you're not a guy who came out of a vult like a zombie 2 look for his father, nor you are a courier who gets shot by a random douche then u chase him across the wasteland 2 find him at Ceasar's camp and execute him JUST to take his gun because its freaking awsome.

EDIT : Hey I have the same speech as you have, so IM as new as you are.

guys i dont want to be bad with you, but
It happens in every game no matter the "MATCHMAKING" or the useless TrueSkill
Life is about a bunch of idiot jerks and a few chosen ones who have the balls to win.
If a bad player lefts this game is because HE IS WEAK AND COWARD and he dont deserve the glory of win in this game. If a bad player still playing is because he have the fey in become powerful and he may succes.

SO, STOP OF BE A COWARD AND BECOME A WINNER.

Im certain life goes like that, its unfair and unforgiving. However this IS A GAME, and like such, its given that in good gaming design you try your best at bringing fair conditions for any players, and its through skill, intelligence, timing, instincts, reflexes, call it whatever you want but its by being better than other players that you succeed, not by exploiting and abusing the flaws of a game like a bigger lot of the people do in this game, and devs apparently dont seem bothered by that.

I'm afraid you are wrong, sir. Again. We had many discussions already, about registered accounts, blocking alts, limiting them, blahblahblah. It's impossible, welcome to dynamic IP & proxy world. Your brilliant idea will hurt newcomers and loners, as every similiar idea of "How to pwn these nasty exploiters and PKs in few simple steps". All in all, newbies get hurt the most, no matter what restrictions you'd include.

I'm tired of repeating it over and over - we need to get rid off reasons to make alts, not alts themselves.

I can be evil with different account and good with another, things what i do with another account cannot releted to another.

One thing I have learned about this game is that if you're paranoid, then you'll be very successful at this game. Everybody is out to get you, everyone wants your stuff, EVERYONE wants to ruin your day. Always go through the back door, always travel with friends, NEVER let anyone stand less than 1 hex away from you. Store every item you see, bring only what you need, learn who to trust and who to shoot.

I don't think that a distance of just one hex is enough, I usually go for 3. Also, there's no such thing as 'friends' here; everyone willing to help you should be treated as a potential backstabber, and you should always be ready for your "friend(s)'" turning against you.

Other than that, you've pretty much said everything there is to successfully playing this game. I'd only add "LEARN FROM YOUR (AND OTHER PEOPLE'S) MISTAKES" to the list. Many gamers seem to be largely incapable of that for some reason.

FOnline really is a great game and if you're not enjoying it, it either means that you're doing something wrong OR that you're simply not supposed to play it at all.

The fact that new players are usually familiarised with the harshness of the game just a few moments after they start playing it is actually its enormous advantage. It's far better to realise that you're not going to enjoy something the very moment you start doing it rather than after having wasted hours getting to know it.

There is a difference between alting and playing different unrelated characters, but yes, I also enjoy the later one.

I've said it once and i'll say it again; this disproportionate fun comes from disproportionate risk.

grief bursters and thieves suffer little to no risk when they should suffer at least as much risk as everyone else if not more since they are acting in enforced environments.

Anyone acting in the wasteland cannot avoid risk, (can you imagine how funny a thief trying to steal from you in the middle of the waste would be?) however ambush traps are probably the least risky endeavor you can undertake in the waste for one simple reason, in my opinion;
I always make outdoors-man characters to avoid people I know I don't want to meet or meet people I know I want to kill, however, last time I checked only one name pops up when I notice an encounter with a player in it no matter how many other players are there along with him. This makes it very hard to spot a trap despite having spotted the encounter... which makes no sense to me at all.

so in summation 3 things I would like to see happen that will not effect the harshness of the waste. In fact I hope they make it harsher.

- more risk for thieves, for reasons I have mentioned before.

- CONSEQUENCES for grievous bursters in ways I have suggested prior to this, because how many suicide killers do you think there would be in a world where everyone is looking out for number one? not many imo and anyone doing it would have a DAMN good reason.

- The chance to see a trap coming, because I can see everything else that comes along.

Many wastelanders would have PTSD/etc. and also may have sunstroke, alcoholism and other drug problems, plus FEV in the air/water causing mental problems.

It is important to roleplay the crazies that the wastes would inevitably generate.

- Steal skill was nerfed a lot already, I don't know what remains - disabling it at all? Avoiding thieves is pretty simple - don't enter towns with precious stuff (or keep it in hands) or move a bit if you see anyone coming next to you

- NCRbursterAlt334, NCRbursterAlt335 NCRbursterAlt336 ... man, this is like counting sheeps before sleep :>

- again: move a bit if you see anyone coming next to you


Most of all this whine is tied with NCR more or less. There is lot of things to do instead of living in such shithole.

Yeah, avoid being robbed is pretty simple as Wichura said. More ...effective than "Oh my god! He stolen my shit!" or something. Also, the largest population of thiefs lives in NCR. There's other places with similar kind of activities like Junktown, the Hub, New Adytum. Also, this is post-nuclear world, if killing is something normal why stealing should be something evil unusual?
