Author Topic: Suggestion, turn most normal human skins in to "outfits" you can wear.  (Read 1171 times)

The idea is pretty simple, since the wipe is still at least 1-2 months away likely, why not make a small update with some interesting stuff that could be removed if it sucks too much when the server is wiped?

In short, take an outfit and give it the sprite of say a homesteader skin, with male and female versions, a mobster skin either be a big mobster, or the madam skin for women.

Or a townsman outfit with a orange shirt male skin, and the yellowish woman in a skirt for the female version. and a outfit with a black guy as the male version and a hooker skin when worn by a woman.

Or an ian/punk chick leather jacket outfit.

For the most part, just the option to have special clothing, and add a small list of what can be used by the skins male/female sprites, so that players have some warning, but don't -need- skins for looking like humans, so the GM's can give out mutant skins still.

Really all it involves is making copies of the robes stat's and editing the sprite used and the description and knowing what sprite can use what, and adding them could be as simple as adding an NPC that trades caps for these items in NCR, there's enough room for it to be the fashion capital of the wastes.

or make them consumables so you will be able to keep the skin after you die
and in order to have back BS skin, buy a vault suit

Perma skins are annoying, having outfits that give you a special skin along with the correct armor bonuses and weight is much better, even if the system would be flawed slightly.

Plus being able to actually use a char for combat and just use a skin for RP is nice as well.

I can say i am not suggesting the same thing as the other topic.

This is about adding it as a mini update of goodies to give the player base, that could easily be removed later, since it's just a few items and maybe an NPC unless i am mistaken.

Regardless of whether or not it has been suggested before, I am entirely supportive of this idea.
It would be great to see what the community could do with such a tool in their hands. Mabye some people would feel more oblidged to hang around New Reno if they all had Mobster skins.
It would be a nice break from seeing areas filled with identically dressed brown haired men with vault suits. The brown robe update managed to fix that a bit however.
