The idea looks nice (though I think too that it should have been posted in general section).
Personally I'm welcoming anything that sounds interesting and for me and it does.
Well though I'm planning something on my own too if I can I will try to help out with some stuff.
About making the crater the main place I would suggest making a shared tent instead with all who wish to participate yep it would be a closed place but it would join the people together in one safe place (which doesn't give radiation).
