Vault City Faction Community Suggestions

Got any ideas or suggestion for the VC faction? Well I'm the writer working on the VC faction quests (doesnt mean im in complete charge, but im pretty solo) If you would like to suggest anything please post your stuff here.

VC is mostly a crafting faction for intellectuals but it is now being designed more around fighters. Since VC is letting outsiders join, there is an increasing amount of aggression inside the walls. Although normal VC born citizens are terribly racist to VC Outsider Citizens, Vault City politicians completely understand the value of using Citizen Outsiders as canon fodder. Get ready to have to join VC to do all this stuff, maybe the player ran caravans/ BOD's will turn into a Global Job, but the rest might stay VC only.

And yes I MAKE sure that both crafters and figthers can literally spend their online time doing quests for VC. I have a Doc 3 inside VC so dont worry about lacking crafting quests, however I mostly use my fighter in general, so please post more crafting/ doc ideas!

One thing to keep in mind before posting, please try not to repeat my ideas. I'm really looking for NEW ideas that I haven't thought of yet, like stealing Hummers from Reno to melt down into spare parts for VC to sell to NCR... lol...

Keep in mind that we are limited to what we can actually code right.....

Current plans/ WIP
---------------------------
BULK ORDER DEEDS -> Replica of Ultima Online's BOD's. NPC wants 10x item, than 15x, 20x. 5x Combat Armour MK2, 10x Metal Armour, 50x Stimpak. Etc. Higher your level and skill, harder the job gets.
Player Ran Caravans for VC -> Player must unload crates across the wasteland, other players may intercept their caravans, thieves may steal a crate :) (5+ levels of difficulty)
Basic Fetch quests for weapons, ammo, materials.
Basic Scouting jobs, player can literally go around the wasteland taking notes.
Basic Spying jobs, similar to Scouting jobs but much more dangerous.
Outpost Defence missions, where the player(s) must defend a certain map from a large amount of enemies, consistantly. Granting the players access to all day battles for VC.
VC vs Gecko vs X Faction Battles. Sabotage, interception, stealth, etc. (Large scale plans i believe this will be called DOMINATION)
Defend player ran caravans! When a player initiates the quest, a message in VC will display. Players type a command or something and they are given the chance to join that player on his quest. If the player fails to defend the caravan he loses rep, points and pays a fine of lets say 1000 caps.
Sabotage enemy Caravans. (We all do it 30% of the time, why not make it an official sanctioned action by your faction?)

Ideas
---------
Steal parts from X location or X faction -> VC needs more advanced technology, go find the BoS or Enclave (etc) and steal their plans! (SEE SPY JOBS)
Defend VC Caravans, see player ran caravans but you just follow them.
Deliver negotiations and demands across the wasteland.
Assasinate Faction Members and Leaders.
Convince VC politicians to obey X VC Politician
Bribe VC politicians
Retrieve stolen goods from would-be thieves.
Asssault Raider bases/ outposts.
Stalk enemy patrols and discover their scheduals.
Provide daily supplies of Medical Gear


God speed, gentlemen. Post your ideas, now is the time to voice your opinion about the Vault City Faction! And yes I will take you seriously, if you can take yourself seriously.
If you suggest it, there is a 50% that it will be implemented in-game!

VC has a Servant Allocation Centre and they will need manpower. Since VC citizens are picky, that will be certain sl...servant types to be aquired.
Pretty women, crafty men, distillers, children for friendly, inquisitive doctor uncles and aunts.

Serious illnesses should be cured, such as podagra and syphilis outbreaks in VC or minor cases of radioactive sickness and broken limbs in Courtyard. Pesky servants get their limbs often accidentally by friendly guards.
Also, drawing teeth, relieving symptoms of terminal diseases of wealth, collecting certain herbs...

Uncooperatives must be taught lessons, bar brawlers nonlethally subdued. Delicious Shadow Apples should be harvested on fields which Slags call so highly their own.

Equipment, especially Laser Turrets should be maintained, for that the VC needs skilled maintenance personel.

I also suggest some traders or quest recipients and quartermasters on lower levels of The Vault 8, they're usually devoid of players.

Of course if all raiders then run away from the power location a sneaky group of VC citizens may turn it back on at any time and royally fuck the raiders.

Thank you for appreciation, Snipe, that's a really nice sabotage suggestion, too. :)

Non-slaver character should be also able to buy...servants at the SAC, as descripted in the Wiki.

Also, since VC is known for producing medical supplies, wouldn't the production plants and laboratories be in the vault? It couldn't be that the whole production is managed by Dr.Troy, Phyllis and their medical terminal alone.
Different rooms or levels could be accessible with additional reputation, bound with profits, like another vendor buying craft materials with good price (so another player could buy them from him, if necessary), he or his assistant could give out fetch quests, too.

Producing chemicals in the Vault, using the facilities (a variety of box running quest), hunting certain critters for biologists, who watch their mutation rates.
Cover up VC-intern intrigues between Citizens, perhaps?

No more ideas off the top of my head but I'm hoping when factions get more shit to do, to be able to craft fancy shit (tier 3 doctor shit in this instance) it would be nice if you actually had to contribute to that faction instead of getting doc 3 then sometimes running into the vault to craft, something along the lines of "faction points" where you can't use the vault until you help the faction by X amount, that value would of course decrease over time making it so you actually had to work for said faction to be allowed to craft higher end stuff.

(Perhaps we should have a thread stickied in this that involves ideas for various city quests in case all the other writers need help/run out of ideas and so it doesn't get thrown back far into the suggestions and forgot about, after all one of the main things lacking in the game is quests)

Edit:
How about a sort of "slaver" war between Metzger and the VC allocation center, involving raiding slave pens (or holding cells for VC) if you are a slaver or a member of the VC faction, after all there are only so many servants in the world and if one group out supplies the other it's going to hurt that faction.

If that doesn't fit your taste how about a questline that involves convincing Metzger to sell to VC instead of selling them to Mordino

What's the point of asking for new ideas if not a single one of the 'old' ones has been used so far?

It takes awhile to script, the ideas may be used but not in full form of the suggestion? That's like asking whats the point in playing the beta if you don't beta test.
