I want to host my own server VoIP but what should I choose? Mumble, TS or VT? How to host them?

Mumble is best choice. For sound transmiting its better than VT or TS. Easy overlay, user friendly program.

Some websites like Virtual-CLan offer free mumble servers to their users. You have a lot of choice. And yes, as said Holo, Mumble is the best voip out there.

And yes, Mumble is best, it has (I checked it some time ago) some less latence than TS3 (it's just almost not hearable, but still...)

i personaly prefeer ventrilo, excellent for +50player ops.

Yes it happen sometimes. Even for many many many players is Mumble better.

Mumble is Open Source, supported by a lot of OS, has overlay, positional audio, ACL. Last time I checked, Teamspeak had not these.

Also, even if we only talk about sound, Mumble remains the better software.

Even if TS3 was better, the fact that Mumble is a decent Open Source program should be enough to convince everyone to use it.

And yes, have already seen 100+ players in Mumble playing FOnline without any problem

We were using TS2, then Ventrilo, then Mumble, now TS3. Has a lot of good options not present in mumble, sophisticated ACL, it also has overlay. Those who posted above are probably still in TS2 era. The choice is yours.

Yes, TS3 maybe finally went to Mumble's level. Still it's not open source, and I do prefer to support open source projects when I have the choice.

What "good options" have you in TS3? You mean file transfering?  And overlay (still as plugin and TS3 developers didn't created it, it's just plugin) still looks shitty and is not so functional.

Before saying that something "is the best" or something "is shitty" you could at least try it yourself.
TS overlay plugin and every its part is fully configurable, I don't get what difference is between mumble and TS overlay, overlay is mainly used just to show who's speaking. Still, you can do more with TS overlay than just looking at it or switching it off.
TS can keep useful files and manage file transfers easily, you have much more options for ACL (mumble usergroup's management is poor when compared to that)

You can't even change volume for every mumble user while in TS you can do it via right-click (and the lack of this is very annoying in mumble as you don't need to tell someone to change his mic volume, you just do it yourself in your TS client if you can't hear someone)..

You can set a priority speaker for channel so commander will be always heard by everyone
Also I don't remember if there was anything in mumble like poke or mass poke in TS which is very handy (well, there were some "announcements" in mumble but too simple)

The choice is yours and I'm not going to argue more about it because bitching about who is using better or worse VoIP tool looks as childish as some boring TC talk...
