Awareness Perk fail?

So I see an encounter on the map and it shows brahmin and ONE guy. 

I join the encounter and there is two guys, including one that has 220 HP and an assault rifle, so there goes my nice armor.

Why did it only list ONE person when there was two?  Is this a bug I have 120 % in the skill.

Probably the second guy entered at the same time as you.

Oww.. yeah I spawned in and didn't even get a shot off just killed, so much for the element of surprise.

Are you raging at me? I was just thinking about a possible answer to your question. What happened to you was because of a bug that allows people to shoot (and kill) you even before you are able to see the map you are entering.

Additionally - when you make map preview - do it by few times. The point of view / range of previewed area is each time different ( it is same as spawn point - you can spawn at few different places at entrace from each you will have different area reveled - based on your PE).

And i think it is a bit missunderstood - you are not talking about awerness perk but about outdoorsman skill...  In such case you can not preview... and you shuld have around 180-200% on that skill to see names up to 4 players...
