It affects base LK = less to level up your 300% gambling skill.
--- Quote from: vedaras on April 26, 2011, 06:16:36 PM ---also if for example 10 players will play, and 9 of them will have 300% gambling, so their chance will still be small to win. Also if you have for example 10 luck sniper, then you have 50% starting gambling skill, so the gambler alt will have just 6 times advantage over you, which mean you can spend 600 caps to make it even.

Yeah and for that 1 player who has <300% gambling skill this chance is even less.
It's better to create 10 IN LK tag gamling character.
Then:
And then get 300% gambling skill and don't bother with your sniper.
vedaras:
as i said before, many people would play, and the chance to win for you would be really small no matter what is your gambling skill, no matter how many tickets you buy. If lets say 50 tickets total were bought and the average gambling skill of buyers is 100. Then there are total 5000 names in the bank list. So one bought ticket for gambler who has 300% gambling skill, gives opportunity to win of 300/5000=0,06 If you have lets say 50% gambling skill then your chance would be 50/5000=0,01.
As you see both chances are near to zero, and im sure that much more tickets would be bought, what would mean that difference between gambling skill would ensure your win % even less. So once again i say that everything is ok.

It is highly doubtfull that the Gambling skill/Luck will ever influence the actual chance to win something. If only, it will unlock games to place higher bids.
Colombo:
whoa, vederas, your math is terribly wrong!
edit:
Lets say, that two players, Jim and Tom, would buy 10 tickets each. Jim is crit sniper, so he has 50 gamble as nature from 10 luck. Tom is gambler alt with 300 gambling. Each have bought 10 tickets, so that will give us:
10*50+300*10=3500
3500 names in list. But what chance do have Jim to win? In that list, there is 500x written Jim. So lets look at his chances:
500/3500=1/7
Because there are only two players, if Jim didn't win, Tom did. So chances that Tom would win are:
1-1/7=6/7
Thats good chance.
RavenousRat:
Actually you don't even need to use math, because gambling skill in his formula, than more skill you have than more chance to win you have, so... people with more gambling skill will have more chances to win, because... they have more gambling skill! Easy!
Alts, alts, alts!
