Formula is written wrong..
It should be (3CH-1)/2 i guess, simply half amount of player-only party, which has (3CH-1).

So the max at 9/10CH we got 4 + 1 from magnet bonus. I need to check it on my leader-char when I'll reach max lvl and take gain charisma ;)

slaving isn't just good, it is the best job ever, any price range on the selling of them to the npc?

Perhaps, but the slaves you get are a good help in combat. And don't forget that they carry weapons you can loot aswell.
