Freeing Slaves
naossano:
I don't like the idea of keeping the slave for himself, but freeing the guy would be good, if you're, for instance, member of the ranger faction. You will get reward from you ranger boss, if that so...
CaptOmg:
I argee with this idea, but the character probaly should have a high charmisa/speech

I don't have problem with the option of them mining or even fighting or doing whatever stuff for their owners, but should they be left unguarded, other players should be able to interact with them.
Non-slaver character should have option to perseudate them to break their loayalty a run away free, or perhaps even join the player (see other slave threads for that details, I've quite liked some ideas about non-violent NPC recruiting).
Reward for doing this should come with better reputation with slaves, and thus allowing better recruiting of former slaves as mercenaries or perhaps even for free.
Slavers should also be identified in examination - they have tatoo on their faces.

As a slaver I think it would be a great idea! Certainly add another element to slaving. How about if you left a slave master as suggested in another thread they don't run away/can't be persuaded unless he's dead.

Would be better if they attack the player in case of faillure. (like enslaving)

Intersting, along with that I guess it'd be quite funny to see guard reactions. However this is not that much of a problem as master will be near in those cases.

It seems that mercs will keep slaves after update, or at least Solar elaborated a little on this topic, you might want to search for it.
