One hint for stalker shadow of chernobyl. If you meet controller.Just stay as much close as you can to him.That way his attack wont have any effect against you. I don't remember good if this works for others too.But it works great for stalker soc. Also in stalker soc joining faction's didn't have any impact on game or story.Just allowed you to gain some extra cash armor and some weapons.

to kill da controler you need to get close to him and then stab his fucking face with a knife [i love that]

Anyway Joining to Factions allows you to get some special items for finishing their oponent [Ex. as playing on Freedom and geting your hands to duty base you will get Freedom Exoskeleton/ More items in shop]

Companions in All stalker series are...Unable? you can get them to follow only on quests so i dont count is as it

About Mercenary Scar...he dont die on end but Clear Sky faction do, He gets into hands of monolith and goes to Brainwash, You can find him in Call of Pripat in one place [the dudes near bandit outpost in Janov]

Only scripted guys where you're part of an action or quest ( like escorting scientist in first game )

Definetly the first game, its a little buggy, but has great gameplay and atmosphere

BTW, if you do by chance get SoC, and wanna really make the game better, download the Super Mod Pack 2.4...Its amazing.
