This seems to make the most sense. ATM repair is more like unjamming a gun.

Weapons
9mm, 10mm, BB gun, etc.- 1 junk to fix from broken
Magnum, hunting rifle, flamer, laser pistol etc. - 1 mp
RL, minigun, p90, laser rifle etc. - 1 alloy

and maybe even higher requirements for plasma rifles, avengers and sniper rifles, like additional alloys, electronic parts, or even other guns/parts that you could salvage, like the craftable scope for the sniper rifle.

Armor
Leather Jacket/Armor - gecko skin or brahmin hide
Metal Armor - MP
Combat/Brotherhood Armor - Alloys

IMO repair should never be a character's highest skill. I know there are people who support balance for every single skill, but it's just not possible, at least right now. Skills like barter, science, repair and gambling should never be able to take you all the way through the game. Repair should never need to go higher than your highest level profession. Or if we really wanted it to, the ridiculous repair requirements in place now could be applied to items out of your specialty, while you could repair any item in your profession using the required item. Of course after a certain point the weapons would still have to become beyond repair.

What do you think about this:

Instead of the main idea to automatically fix the skilled professions, which is in contrary to the main fallout series Ill propose the following:

The less repair one has, the bigger cooldown and/or lesser repair percentage on repair should be instead of high (180-200% repair alts), of course repair 20% shouldnt repair anything, it should damage the weapon from 60-100 50% to repair or remain the same % 100-150 80% repair always reducing deterioation, 150% and more - 100% repair always reducing substantial amounts of deterioation PLUS cooldowns respectively the bigger skill the lesser

what do you think?

Well making and repairing things is really a diffrent type of work. Not everyone have experience with some type of damage that can be done to a gun. If you know how to build one then you should be able to replace any part used. But not urely repair it. Alas a bonus to repairing an item you can create should be fine.
