Is the barter skill working? I remember that people told me a long time ago that it isn't working and now I wonder again if anything changed...

I read on the wiki that it's working with items that the trader isn't specialized in, is it true?

yes it is like that. But barter skill works only till you raise it to certain number (different for all traders), so for most traders there will be no difference if you have 180% barter skill or 200% :>

And yes, items that are in traders list are always sold/bought for base items price.

i dont understand??? if they are how does the barter skill work then.

He meant on the list of preferred items, not the list of items the merchants actually have.
Generally it's not worth to invest skill points in barter . It can save you a little bit of time if you farm caps in merchants, that's all.
