Throwing spears.
pistacja:
You know what would make throwing more practical?
Add melee damage to it(but not grenades), make bonus hth attack affect it(but not grenades), have Heave Ho! affect damage and range(but not grenades) and finally make all knifes and spears throwable.

It's as effective as we want it to be. I don't think it's a huge stretch of the imagination to assume someone with decent throwing skill could so some damage by throwing things that aren't spears or specially designed throwing knives. Maybe not rippers and cattle prods, though more because it seems a bit silly than anything else. It's no less believable than being able to hit someone's eyeball. Just a very, very easy way of expanding the throwing skill.
Lexx:
Throwing a ripper at someone can't be a lot effective, as you have to press some button in order to activate the rippers vibroblate. Same with cattle prod 'n stuff.
Slaver Snipe:
Meh i think throwing a super sledge with 9-10 strength (needed because its so fucking heavy) would be realistic although the range would undoubtedly not be at 15 no matter your strength...and if you want to throw expensive items like that at an enemy why not...
