FOnline Flyers, lets get more players!
lehytek:
Derp, you all need a reality check.
We're living in the age of iPlayboxtendo 364 DS Slim. When you tell the casual, average Joe that you play video/computer games, they will most likely think of something like "Gears of Halo" or "Call of Warcraft" or "Duty Fortress 2". These games have on-screen tutorials and some are shipped with audio-visual tutorials on how to play the game, they're even telling people "Durr hurr press up to go forward", meaning that there may be some people who have such problems.
The likelyhood that nowadays we will persuade the public mass to play FOnline, a game with graphics made for the hardware available 15 years ago, and graphic interface and controls not being shouted into the knobhead's ears, is less than slim.
It is saddening of course that nowadays graphics is the pressing issue in games, but it is a good thing to keep up with the news.
So, a good way to advertise this game is to reach out to communities that are not picky about graphics or complexity of controls.

to sum up what Lehytek said (and I strongly agree with those words):
Kids are getting dumper and dumper (in general) as years goes by! :D
Cheers for old, one of a kind games like Fallout series!
Hovinko:
Not everything is about graphics.
Fallout New Vegas with more than 2 years old engine and still its one of the most successful game in last year. Because of content.
There are few reasons why there cannot be 600 players anymore.
1, Limited Fallout community. Lack of propagation is the issue too.
2, Release of SDK.
With SDK release there are more servers of fonline. Like requiem with 150 - 200 people. And before requiem players, were playing on TLA or 2238.
And another more projects are coming with every month.
If you have 1000 fonline players, they will split on these servers.
2238 has advantage of early start. So there are more things done than on the other servers.
But actuall progress is very slow. In compare with other projects.
And that is because of the lack of manpower. 1-2 scripters for such large project like 2238, is just insufficient.
There are a lot of great suggestions, but no manpower to implement them.
Fix bugs or to make a simple change such as autorun, it takes 1-2 months. And community see that.
Number of players is strongly dependand, on the amount of work, what is done on the server.
And work on MMORPG never ends. Players want always new stuff.
But some propagation will be a good thing to support 2238.
But Im not sure that developers want to have more players on the server.
More players means more fun. But more players also means more demand for work to be done from devs side.

My god, can we cut that bullshit already? Just to remember everyone: There was a time too, where we released daily updates. Sometimes even twice or more. But after two years of continued working nonstop, things can change.
