OK, I think I screwed up my plans to become boctor level 3... REALLY need help!!

OK.  So I'm really new to the game and still learning a lot.  I was trying to grind for XP and joined the Vault City to do some quests...  Well I didn't finish many quests and then decided I wanted to join a group that a bunch of my friends had set up so I could see their base.  I decided to leave the Vault City faction.  I go into the computer, resign and leave.  First thing that happens: I get gunned down by the guards while trying to leave the building where the computer for resigning is located.  Check the wiki, OK, that's going to happen.  Woops, my bad!  Now, I'm going back to Vault City to meet a friend there and before the map loads, I'm dead!  Then, I tried to meet them at the train station and BAM, same thing.  I'm dead.   Well, I realized how bad of a karma hit I took by leaving that faction.  Not a good thing for me...  So I was planning on becoming a level 3 Doctor, but I'm worried that I won't be able to make it back into that city for a LONG time.  I know that killing certain critters can get me back in, but I need to know which ones to kill.  Also, are there any other tricks to raising my reputation with Vault City?  I'm at -2000 now, so I think I just need to get up to -1500 or so and I can go back.  I read on the Wiki that it will increase 10 points for every real-life day.  Does this mean I need to wait nearly two months to even be allowed back in that city without killing critters?  Thanks for you help!

Every day you get (or lose if you have more than +200) 79 reputation. I don't know why it said 10, but it just seems to be off. I don't know which ones to kill, but I'm pretty sure you can go into Gecko, meet up there with your friend, join the faction, get exp. When you will have enough exp and skills, just go to NCR - there you won't be shot like in VC. When you will be ready for doc lvl 3 the reputation with VC should be fine too I think.

Not sure, but I doubt you can join VC after you left VC faction once.

I was referring to the faction that his friends made.

Yea, that's OK.  I just need to buy a day pass to get in to become doctor level 3 and then later user the medical terminal.  How much do those things cost, anyway (the day passes, that is)?
