so, I started a character and spawned in modoc but just as soon as i spawned i was set upon by a gang of russian women, is it just me but will the game be much like that everywhere i go, apart from the frequent thievery and mugging by radscorpions?

Yeah, the firsts days are the most harder. Even the walls want to kill you.
Well, dont go to north cities, that is a "warland", people will get you killed just for fun. Try to find some friends or a gang, playing alone is suicide.

started a brand new character and spawned dead in broken hills..
