How do I download the game?

I was recruited by a friend in real life but I cant find out where to get the download files for the game?

you also need the master and critter data from fallout2 if you dont have it am sure your friend does. :) just ask him nicely to lend the game to you for 30 min or so. :)

oh yeah, I already got those two files he told me about on a CD. Do I just need to install them into the game file?

Make sure your Master.dat and Critter.dat files are in your FOnline directory, and check if their correct path is set in FOConfig.exe (Set their path in bottom of GAME tab).

Ahh crap, turns out my friend gave me a blank disc. Is it possible to get these files online?

Possible? Yes.. can probably purchase game from GoG.com or any such site , that offers online sales.
Other illegal means to attain the necessary files are not to be discussed here.

...... am sure if you look hard enough you will but either wait till tommrow or now depending on what time it is where you live and get from friend or get him to send them to you via email.

oh wait they have limits don't they. Best chance is just to wait on the friend to give the correct disc, save the money you might have spent downloading it from steam and donate ;).

GoG.com sells it for $5.99, and games there are DRM free.

Not "don't have", but "I can't find it". These files contain graphic, sounds and other stuff required to play Fallout 2, how any legal version could not have them?

I'm sorry but that was entertaining to read, they do indeed have the master/critter.dat and they are quite easy to find.
