I I just died but my merc lived through the encounter, however the merc is now MIA permanently

I think it makes sense that a merc should be able to find his way home (especially considering how much we pay for them)


perhaps they could rendezvous at the nearest location?

How good is your merc outdoors or alone for that matter, if he survives the encounter but you die then why shouldn't they make their way back to the nearest town (or tent/base whichever is closer but they need to have visited these locations). How about a twist though because its not all happy days if they have crap outdoorsman so they themselves might run into encounters and the distance needed to travel will increase the risk of him/her/mutant getting back in one piece.

That or they just make their way back to the nearest merc hiring facility given that they witnessed your death (although you get revived in the game, who's going to want to work for a dead person with nobody else with the power to give orders).
