To be honest. If players don't close their hotel room doors, it's their own fault.

So then presuming hotel room is closed and locker is locked are players suposed to be able to lockpick it or not?
Cause the GM that responded yesterday said they were and its working as intended its not a bug !

Due to changes in the items storage system there, the doors/containers were lockpickable, but items were safe (unless someone left it opened, because before they auto-close the items were vulnerable).

Upcoming fix will disable lockpick there, because it's currently not feasible (again, due to that storage method).

So... any other ideas for lockpick? Or we just throw that skill where sneak and gambling already are?

Nah, it will be only disabled temporarily to avoid such confusion like now. In fact, rooms are good opportunity for lockpicking, as it may work by not letting you to fetch all items when you lockpick container. So that thieves won't render it useless (it can't be less useful than tents for now, cause you pay for it. And tents are still 100% secure).

Allow stuff to be stolen from a hotel room and they are 100% useless, even if they were free

Unless you could booby trap the door tactics style.

Then one tries to break in, asplodes, respawns, comes back and wins, because the trap is asplodet already.

if locker is open, and i want to look in, i will first close the locker and then is locker locked and i cant get in..

Actually if a locker is allready opened all you need is to use steal on it.

This is when things go messy, and every sane dev thinks 'screw that, let's just make it non-lockpickable' ;)

Also, Hotel rooms are meant to be a nice easy, cheap option. Then forcing every newb who wants to keep their sledgehammer safe to buy mercs to guard it also defeats the point totally. (especially as gangs can just tour the hotel rooms and take out an individuals mercs easily)
