When I need hides, i just go around Modoc and farm 20 in 10 minutes. Never met a PK yet.

Already made kind of the same suggestion. You say the problem are PK, but you choose a Modoc (unguarded town) NPC to sell the hides? Not to mention the long walk...

E... Long walk but from where? From Modoc i never had a long walk to Modoc.
