i lost my car key, help!

Ok, so i lost a car key in a fight (stupid me), the only car key! So what are my options now?

I read that making a new key by lockpicking with a random one in active slot dont work anymore. And that T-ray only duplicates keys. I got some lockpick skill on my alt, but it's only 96% and LK 1 so i'm not successful.

So what can i do? How much skill do i need to lockpick it?
And if i manage to lockpick it, is it permanent or do i need to do it every time i want to use the car?

Crazy:
Buy/craft an extended lockpick set, put it in your active hand, and try few lockpick. If it's not enough, level your char to have a better skill.
Once you lockpicked your char, you don't need to do it anymore, but everyone can access (and steal) it without difficulty if it's not parked in a safe place.

ok, but the problem is this is not a lockpick char, and is already 16 lvl. i want to know will it be worth the trouble? i mean, how much skill do i need? i want to be sure.

if i need like 200 and an expanded set, then i'd rather buy a new car. it's easier.

You're gonna need a high skill to do it.  With about 240, I still fail sometimes, but thats without a lockpick set.  I could lockpick your car tho, for a fee.
