Suggestions to crafting, items and skills
« on: November 05, 2010, 09:12:48 am »

I show my suggestion in releted to categories.

Crafting
Power Armor craftable (Need to be in BoS, atleast 1000 rep for them to get blueprints to Power Armor, Armorer profession 3 to get profession 4)
Before you say anything check crafting table.
Crafting table: Profession lvl 4, 30 Good metal parts, 20 high quality alloys, 100 Microfusion cells, Brotherhood armor and perk "Power armor training" when you leave BoS you cannot anymore crafting Power armors

Bag craftable (Add 20 lbs to you carry weight)
Crafting table: Outdoorsman 40%, Brahmin hide, fibre (same requirements than water bag)

In SG profession lvl 1 you can make once 100 pieces of ammo (Without professions you can only make 50 pieces of basic ammo)

Items
Some special items that raise one of you S.P.E.C.I.A.L or something else when you equip them.
Rubber boots = Add 20% to radiation resistance, Water flask = Add +1 to CH, Dice = +1 to LK,
Glasses = Add +1 to PE.

Skills
Some guys that raise you skills when you talking them (Like in Fallout 2 village and many other place)
They can teach you combat skills, and other skills too.

I add more suggestions later to this.

Before you say anything check crafting table.

Alright, I'll do it your way.

Crafting table: Profession lvl 4, 10 Good metal parts, 5 high quality alloys, 10 Microfusion cells

Haha, you think that those mats are gonna take a while to collect? No, big gangs already have "enough" of crafting materials. If this will be implemented, it's gonna lead to another alting tour, getting 500 rep with BoS, then crafting tons of Power Armors to faction. Yay no more CA/BA in TC, only power armors!

No, I'm against Power Armors. And remember this:

Quote from: http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/FOnline:_2238
- # No heavy armors (Such as Power armors) and high-level weapons (Such as Gauss rifle).

As the requirements are ok for a single player, gangs wil stilll have tons of PAs that way. also besides VC-alts for drugs theyll have more BoS-alts for PAs.

But suddenly a crazy idea strikes my mad mind again:

Ok Char has Armorer 4 and is BoS member.
Char does requirements (quest X or X reputation) for getting PA blueprint.
Char receives perk "Power Armor Training" which is needed to equip PAs.
Char can now craft and use PA.

On leaving BoS no more crafting (as BoS has maybe special crafting terminal for it) and perk is revoked.

----------------------

and now lets let this crazy idea shatter by the fact that there will be never regular PAs in this mod :)

I especially like the bag item. It would make a huge difference in big fights where power builds can usually carry just their eqip and little more. Would make looting far more comfortable and eliminate need for duallogs or fastrelogs of looter char.

I think that crafting only standard PowerArmour for outrageous sum of resources wouldnt make that much change. It is significantly stronger only against miniguns and lasers but still far from invincible. Standard PAs can be allowed for start.

Items for permanent rising of stats would make huge difference in current builds and would have to be extremely expensive or rare. Even drugs which rise stats temporarily rise them in sum usually just for one point.

I think this system works. Alting wouldn't work because only BoS members could use it and only after they had the perk. To be a BoS member, you can not be in a player faction, so there's no issue of distributing them to every member of a gang.

1 alt is faction leader, all the other characters are friends of the faction while in BoS.

You will later have to spend much time to meet the requirements of gaining the next rank in faction xy, so its not that easy to just alt it.

Wow, Id never suspect you to be even a little for this idea  :o

Up to the idea...there would need to be something that would block TC gangs from having it, like faster deterioration against bursts and plasma and normal deterioration or higher PvE... dont know just an idea, but the rep one is good too

Id like to have one on my own, would be great, cheers

Such items as PAs, APAs, gauss rifles, etc. should be given to members of BoS/Enclave only during automated mini-event mission like TC BoS members vs Enclave members on some map or town, but I don't see any reason why Enclave need to capture a town if they want to clean California from mutated people. While using such high tech items for your own shouldn't be possible, it'll make bonus for NPC factions like if you'll have an advantage in TC because of cool guns and armor against PC faction, if PC faction wants to control that town at the same time as NPC faction.
