Yup, already took magnetic personality and planning to take also gain CHR at 12 :P

Eh, if you can i would advise lifegiver instead since without hp you may be losing slaves often when you die and cannot come back to find them and grabbing gain cha at 15.

Do i need to give my slaves sledgehammers to mine?

No, or at least not the last time i tried  ;D

minimal:
AlienS2, only for gathering high quality resources. btw, slaves haven't any cooldown, that's why sledgehammers would disappear after they gather 3-6 hq res.
