NPC Transport

(1/2) > >>

skejwen:

Everyone probably remember this guy from Mad Max and I thought why not give him a job in FO:2238 ;)

Its a loose idea to add in some towns (I think that best locations would be HUB, NCR and SF) new NPC who will transport (well... technically teleport) to other towns. It wouldnt be for free... maybe for cash or MFC, "normal" price for transporting to other town with similar NPC and double or triple price for transporting to towns without him.

Pluses:
- It would be new way to spend cash
- It would encourage migration of players from NCR to other towns
- Sometimes its crucial to be somewhere instantly (i.e. there is event somewhere)

Minuses:
- Its based on Elder Scrolls similar feature ;)

Badger:
Part of me likes the idea of paying for safe travel, but I can see it just being used by gangs to warp reinforcements.

Alvarez:
Aww, give this idea a chance, Badger.

I believe that the autogiro guy will have his own schedule, rather than coordinating his flight plans with SoT or BBS.

He'll be shuttling between cities at random, you might be lucky to meet him or you will have to wait.
Perhaps he will need a bigger vehicle, like a old rusty bus pulled by brahmins on jet.

Badger:
Hmmm, maybe if it was in specific towns. Like in Arcanum. You can get a bus/train from Reno to the Hub. Or the Hub to NCR. They run every ingame hour or so.

I'm not sure about the timer, though. It would have to be short enough to make it worth considering, but long enough to stop it being 'instant' travel.

Introducing short "move" which cant be skipped (like hell from TLA) would prevent "instant" transporting ;)
