So I have to join the raiders to become gunsmith lvl 3... Bummer! Everyone's gonna hate and attack me. Is there any way to avoid this? I really don't wanna have to fight every random encounter patroll I come across, that will likely end in my death very often.

After some times, your reputation slowly go back to -200 neutral.

It's gonna take like 2-4 real life weeks to get most reps to non hostile state.

they have the mordino bullshit? Speaking of which you could join mordino to override the raider faction, not sure if thats better though.

To increase your rep a bit, do the following:
- take what's needed to join raiders and take a gun, ammo and super stims
- join and than leave raiders
- kill as many raiders at their base as possible (+20 rep. per 1 if I remember correctly)

Cool thx for advice, maybe I can be back up after a day of raider killing.   I've never played a more frustrating yet satisfying game. If this game wasn't so hardcore it wouldn't be nearly as fun!

Once you left raiders, you can still see their base.
When you enter they'll attack you the moment they spot you.
When you killed a bunch of raiders, you might like to take a look at your rep with them.
Pre wipe I had an alt with -40000 with raiders and other 1 with -38000 in The Den.

The briefcase quest doesn't make you a slaver.  Joining the slavers is the only way to become a slaver.
