That mission is called "The Shalebridge Cradle", yes - its scary as hell... though "Return to the Cathedral" form Thief 1 is even more scary ;)
Sad thing about T:DS is that its only thing that I remember from it...

Beside of T2X I recommend to try Calendra's Legacy - funmade campaign for T2, especially 2nd mission "Midnight in Murkbell: - its fkn awesome :D
