theiving system needs an overhaul

The point is to watch yourself. You're taking it easy in NCR, trading and thinking that there are no thieves... There are ALWAYS thieves. The system isn't flawed, your logic is. Start multi tasking when you trade. Watch your character and the trade menu. Also move the trade menu off your character so you can see if anyone is stealing from you. If anyone approaches you, quit the trade menu and walk away. Plan out what you're going to buy and sell, know the prices so the trade goes by quicker. Remember, you don't HAVE to make the trade then and there, there are always new opportunities for trade, so why risk losing them to some petty thief?

Someone stole from your inventory and you're mad. Chill out, it's just a game. This doesn't just happen to you, it happens to everyone. It used to happen to me until I started LEARNING from my mistakes. Here's an idea, after being stolen from, do you ever sit back for 1 minute and think about what you did wrong? Maybe you were standing still while the man was thieving you. Maybe you were pondering how he could steal something out of your right hand. Maybe you were too busy playing FOnline like your typical MMO instead of what it really is... A VIRTUAL BLOODSPORT!

Guess guard just should try to stop thievery, that's damn illogical when they just stay and watch, never trying to prevent crime. They could at least say something - like "Hey, that bastard %thiefname% just tried to rob you - nail him!", or just shoot - like in original Fallout. Thievery is not heavy crime like killing, of course, but wasteland is a harsh place...

Guards are saying "XY tried to rob you" if they were detected. I had my problems with thiefs too, but if you are careful enough it is not a problem anymore. As said before, keep caps in your hands or things like 250x 10mm ammo. Mark them red, go outta their way. Someday someone will judge them all :)

I helped my friend to steal and bro, this story of yours is nothing. We stole money from people setting up a base, were talking to a guy who was selling his guns and the thief would steal everything while in the barter window, lastly cornering some people in the shop. You need to look whos around you, move your barter screen so you can see your character and if somebody approaches just hit ESC and done, TADA!
