Improves for controling the merceneary
« on: May 06, 2010, 11:03:25 am »

1.We cannot controle (alt+click) a mercenary then we can't see him. Even if he is one square from us but behind a wall.
Why is it worinkg with our FOV?
Why we can't shout that command to him to come to us even if he is on the other side of map?

2. When we have more than one merc on map, can we controle only one (f.e) mercenary?
Alt+click on him and make him 'active'. The rest of our mercenary will be 'passive' (but if they will saw that we're getting hit they will auto-change it to active and come to help)
Option 'move here (high priority)' will work for 'passive' mercenaries too.

3. Some stuff is on exit grid. We can alt+click on it and give a command to merc to get it up.
There is now 'critter' menu and 'map', so we can add 'item' (with option to only move there too when we don't want to take up the stuff)
It will not be working with looting dead bodies

As a merc-packing man I agree with your posts. There's actually some things wrong with mercs from obvious bugs to lack of control options.

Gotta agree with parts 1,2 and 3.

Before number 2 can be included, the mentats-exploit must be solved.

Regarding 3, you can always punch your merc and run for the stuff when it's on the grid. On the other hand stuff on the grid could be also considered as "lost" stuff, it's there but no one can reach it. Think of yourself as a kid starting through the window of candy shop and you got no pocket money. This is just speculation but it would totally make sense that merc could pick the stuff up but then again why can't players?

Based on evidence collected from various sources by trustworthy attendees it is undisputed veritability that the land ravaged by atomic warfare which caused extreme change of the ecosystem and environmental hazards can be considered unpleasant, rugged and unforgiving.
